When training our lower body, many of us focus on quad dominant exercises such as squats and lunges, and undertrain the posterior chain (the back side of our body including the hamstrings, glutes and lower back).
The GHD is unmatched when it comes to targeting the posterior chain to develop power, strength and to help prevent injury. Developing the hamstrings and glutes increases jumping and sprinting performance, and is correlated with a lower risk of ACL injury.
You can also use the GHD to develop your core and hip flexors by performing GHD sit-ups.
